Meet Adam Williams, a 29-year-old army veteran whose path led him from serving in Afghanistan and Iraq to pursuing his genuine passion for real estate. Now, as the Head of Sales at Smart Sales & Investments, he has partnered with Director David Smart to tackle two significant renovation projects in Paisley, turning neglected houses into stylish, modern residences that are now fetching more than five times their original value.
The initial photographs taken right after the purchase present a shocking scene: both properties were cluttered with debris, dirty, and in dire need of extensive renovations. Adam shared that through collaboration with the Scottish Empty Homes Partnership, they gained insight into the larger impact of their work, emphasizing that their goal extends beyond profit; it’s about revitalizing communities by breathing life back into these homes.
In an interview with Glasgow Live, Adam expressed, "We can see the bigger picture; this is more than just making money. Our mission is to reintegrate homes into local communities, especially given the ongoing housing crisis in Scotland, which makes this effort even more crucial."
The team undertook an enormous task at properties located on Harelaw Crescent and Bargarron Drive, both of which had sat empty for several years. They began by stripping the homes down to their bare bricks, first calling in removal teams to clear out the excess waste, allowing for a fresh perspective on what could be achieved. Remarkably, after just six months of hard work, both homes were ready to hit the market again.
Adam remarked, "Whenever I come across a property like this, I envision its potential after all the renovations. It’s an incredibly fulfilling job. Sure, it’s challenging, but the positive outcomes make it worthwhile."
